I have had a few companies ask me lately, "what is a  HUBZone and what benefits can it offer my company?"  A HUBZone is Historically Underutilized Business Zone.  We currently have 5 census tracts in Shasta County that qualify.  Census tracts 012000, 010900, 010100, 011200, 012100.  You can view these census tracts on a map here >>>  The HUBZone Program stimulates economic development and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing Federal contracting preferences to small businesses.  Small businesses in these areas need to be certified in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone.  The small businesses must also maintain a "principal office" in one of these designated areas.  READ MORE...
