Shasta County's wage rates for most occupations are generally below those of comparable occupations in California as a whole, but are expected to rise moderately in all areas. Growth is expected to be fastest in the area of services, retail trade, construction and mining followed by wholesale trade, government, transportation and public utilities. Increases in manufacturing will be significant as established firms expand and new manufacturers move into the area.
