Shasta EDC - Time for Action on the Enterprise Zone Program |
| 07-Feb-2012 |
In 2011 Governor Brown proposed the elimination of the California Enterprise Zone program. The California Association of Enterprise Zones, in response to the proposal, rallied around the 42 Enterprise Zones in the state and went to legislators to demonstrate what an asset the program is for businesses in California. Shasta County EDC participated in this combined effort and as a result of CAEZ’s coalition the Enterprise Zone program was spared. As we approach a new budget year with Governor Brown the Enterprise Zones are again being considered for elimination or modification. Shasta EDC sees the importance of this coalition. In response, Mark Lascelles is now serving on the CAEZ legislative committee to review possible changes to the EZ program. Find out how you can support this effort. Contact Shasta EDC >> |
