Project Management Minor Available Spring 2019

Beginning in spring 2019, students enrolled in Chico State’s College of Business BS degree in Business Administration (option in management), delivered at the downtown Redding Shasta College University Center can obtain a minor in project management by taking one additional course on project portfolio management. Students will gain hands-on project management experience in the class, while learning how to manage multiple complex projects, productively, under significant time constraints. This complements the management option by providing a value-added skill-set for students.

Project management skills are highly valued in the workplace, and the courses leading up to the minor will help to prepare students to obtain a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a globally-recognized leader in project management certification. According to the PMI website, “Project management is a rapidly growing profession. Through 2020, 1.57 million new jobs will be created each year and qualified practitioners are in demand.”

All courses offered in the Redding University Center begin at 5:30 p.m. or later. A mix of face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses are designed to allow students flexibility in attending classes while still working full or part-time.

The mission of the business administration program at the Redding Center is to provide a quality, affordable public university education in Redding that is relevant and responsive to our local regional needs. It is the premier choice for Redding locals when selecting a four-year degree. Click here for more information, or call Kristina Brown, Business Student Advising and Services at 530-898-4480, or email kbrown60@csuchico.edu.
