- We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.
Maker Categories:
Maker Exhibit: Individuals, groups, schools and organizations that would like to demonstrate what they make and/or how it works in an all-day exhibit space; interactive exhibits are encouraged. For maker groups, please have one point person to coordinate your efforts. There is no exhibitor fee for standard Maker Exhibits, but a Maker Exhibit application is required.
Commercial Makers ( Vendors): Individuals or entrepreneurs who would like to sell or market products along with demonstrating what they make at their Maker Exhibit. Submit a Maker Exhibit application and indicate that you are a Commercial Maker by indicating your plans to promote or sell products at Maker Faire. There will be an exhibitor fee for vendors.
Presentation: Individuals and groups who would like to talk about an idea or project of interest to the Maker community, OR makers who are interested in demonstrating what they make and how it works in a classroom setting. Presentations are typically 10, 20, or 45 minutes, with some time for Q & A.
Workshop: Individuals or groups who would like to teach others about what they Make and how they Make it in a hands-on way. Teach others how to program on Arduino, sew LEDs into a costume, build a model rocket, or anything you might imagine. Workshops are either 30, 60, or 120 minutes long.
Young Makers: Young Makers are simply kids who Make. They design and sew their own costumes and prom dresses. They build go-carts and tree houses. They design Lego robots and program computers. They identify problems and build something to solve them. We want to celebrate the Young Makers in our community by giving them a special venue to exhibit their work at the Shasta County Mini-Maker Faire. Young Makers will have the opportunity to exhibit their work for a 2 hour window.
Exhibiting Sponsor: Corporate entities and/or organizations interested in sponsoring our event should visit our Sponsors web-page. Sponsors requesting exhibit space should also submit a Maker Exhibit application. Spaces fill quickly.
Performer: Musicians, dancers, and other entertainers who would like to perform at Maker Faire. Performances are usually on a smaller stage and scheduled for approximately 50 minutes. Set lengths may vary. Some performances in the past have been roaming and unscheduled, which is welcomed. Please mention scheduling details in your application.
