Theory Coffee Roasters is the small franchise champion at the largest coffee roasting competition in north america

This year’s Golden Bean Competition was held in Columbus Ohio, where coffee roasters from across the country gathered to compete.

700+ of the best coffees in the world were submitted, and Redding-based roastery Theory Coffee took home two gold medals, one silver medal, three bronze medals, and earned the title of Champion in the small chain category!

Theory Coffee Roasters has competed for the last five years, each year winning
medals. All of Theory’s coffees are sourced through relationships that promote sustainability in the supply chain, and all of the coffee is locally roasted in Redding, California.

The medals, categories, and coffees entered are as follows:
● Gold medal in the Espresso in Milk Category
— Entered: Tres Fuertes Golden Bean Competition Blend
● Gold medal in the Espresso Category
— Entered: Ethiopia Keramo Natural
● Silver medal in the Espresso Category
— Entered: Rodriguez Sanchez Finca Monte Blanco Colombia Geisha Gold
● Bronze medal in the Filter Coffee Category
— Entered: Elkin Guzman Tabi Koji Natural (This coffee was fermented with Koji spores which are used in fermenting Sake ́)
— Rodriguez Sanchez Finca Monte Blanco Colombia Geisha Gold Gran Cru.

Many of these coffees will be available to experience at Theory’s Hilltop and California
Street locations starting Friday, August 18th. These coffees will also be available for
nationwide shipping at www.theorycoffee.com.
